ORIGIN
Built on a working cattle ranch.
HerdBook started from a real problem on the ranch: we didn't know, visually, who belonged to whom — in the pasture, in the moment. Enterprise tools were overbuilt for our size, spreadsheets couldn't carry the information that mattered, and the notebook we kept was always in the house when we needed it in the field.
So we built our own — starting with a red Brahman heifer named Jelly.
A visual-first record of every one of the ~100 head in our cow/calf operation, built with the AI tools that finally let people close to a problem build the answer themselves. HerdBook is a product of careyworks — built by someone who's still out there checking the pastures every day.

Does it work without cell service?
Not yet — offline capture is the next thing shipping. Today, HerdBook needs a connection to save. Offline queue-and-sync is in build and rolls out to every subscriber the moment it lands, no upcharge.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
If you don't subscribe, your data stays put for 30 days while you decide. Export anytime.
Is my data mine?
Always. Full CSV and JSON export, encrypted storage, and your ranch's data is isolated from every other ranch.
